Earrings and Necklaces with an Antique Ambience
This jewelry has an historical ambience, and so it should! I fashioned earrings and necklaces to be as close as possible to the style favored by the beautiful women of the past, both in Europe and America. I researched antique jewelry carefully, looking high and low for findings that were close to what was available to our forebears--lever-back pierced earrings closely approximates those antique styles, and real silk ribbon ties or box-lock clasps work well for this. Recently I've found antique earrings made closely along the line of French hooks, so I am now offering those, as well.
Interestingly, though, these have proven as popular with 21st century women as with living history reenactors and historians, including the youngest! I offer small, dainty earrings sized for today's miss and a great variety of other styles (keep watching this space for new work, including designs for the modern woman and a few clip-on styles).
I make only jewelry that I would like to wear myself, and choose those semi-precious stones, pearls, or beads to complement the gold-filled or sterling silver components I find in a variety of sources; see the individual description for more information.
Bead necklaces are made with ribbons to tie prettily at the back of the neck, or a silver or gold filled* clasp. They are strung on natural cords, of silk, linen, or cotton.

New to this collection are crosses, both semi-precious stone and silver, suspended from ribbons alone, as was popular with the beautiful women of the past. They are as beguilingly feminine today as they were 200 years ago. Affordable and lovely.
Subtle, elegant, and oh-so-reminiscent of past times. All gemstone beads, dyed coral, and cultured pearls are slightly irregular in shape, giving them the feel of the past.

* "Gold-filled" means that the earrings are made of gold bonded to a metal base, and the layer of gold is approximately 100 times thicker than "gold plated" to resist wear.
