Southwell, 1290 AD
This jack-in-the-green is a print from my colored pencil drawing of one of the creatures that peer from the walls and columns of Southwell, England. I love the way he holds up his chaplet of oak leaves and looks at us with an impudent expression. The jack is sometimes a trickster, and this fellow looks like it, too!
Print, black and white on laid paper, matted, 8" x 10".
