Puck in the GreenLeaves

Oak leaves were collected from a particular hill I often visit, dried, and affixed to a wooden panel with gesso and various other textures were introduced-including the Celtic spiral. Transparent glazes of acrylic in shades of blue, green, and warm brown provided depth and color, then the face of the Puck or Pooka just seemed to appear between the leaves. He is based on no one human, he just appeared as I drew with a colored pencil. Additional layers of acrylic further defined that exotic face.

Original, Mixed Media on wood panel, 9" x 12".
